Baked Pasta

This is a great twist to your favorite pasta recipe.    It is a little spicy, but, that is what made it so yummy to my family.

2 lb lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 T. garlic, minced
2 cans spaghetti sauce
1 t.  oregano
1 t.  red pepper flakes
1- 16 oz pasta (ziti/penne/whatever is on hand), cooked and drained
2 c. mozzarella, shredded
2 c. parmesan, grated

Cook pasta according to package directions and drain.  Brown ground beef with onion and garlic (I added additional salt/pepper to taste).   Add spaghetti sauce, oregano, and red pepper flakes.   Simmer for 10 minutes to absorb flavors.   Add pasta to meat sauce.

In a 9x13 pan, layer pasta mixture and cheeses until ingredients are used-- finish with some of the cheeses on top.   Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.   (Judy Bittner)
