Peanut brittle:
3 c sugar 1 c light karo 1 c water Stir the above and bring to a boil. Cover and boil 2.5 minutes. Remove lid and cook to 275, stirring constantly. Add 2 c of raw peanuts. Cook to 310- stirring constantly When 310, add 1 tsp soda, ¾ tsp salt, 2 tsp vanilla. Mix well. Pour onto 2 buttered cookie sheets sprinkled with sugar. Put 1 ½ c peanut butter (split) on pans. Quickly pour out hot mixture onto peanut butter. Paddle and work fast using 2 spatulas. Mix thoroughly and spread as thin as possible. Cool.
