Chocolate Orange Pinwheels

1 c butter, softened
1 - 3 oz cream cheese, softened
1 c sugar
1 egg
1 Tbls grated orange peel
1 tsp vanilla
3 1/2 c flour
1 tsp vanilla

Filling:
1 c chocolate chips
1 3- oz cream cheese
1/2 c confectionate sugar
1/4 c orange juice

Cream butter, cheese and sugar.   Add egg, orange peel and vanilla and mix well.   Add flour and salt to creamed mixture.   Cover and chill for 4 hrs.    Combine filling ingredients in small saucepan and heat until smooth   Divide dough in 1/2.   Roll each half into 12x9” rectangle on a floured surface.     Spread filling over rolled out dough.    Carefully roll up, starting on long end and wrap into a tight jelly roll.   Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or freeze for 2-3 hrs.    Unwrap and cut into 1/4” slices.  Place on greased cookie sheets and bake at 375 deg. For 8-10 min.   Let cool 2 min. on cookie sheet.
