Blonde Brownies

1/2 c margarine
2 c brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 c coconut
1 c chopped nuts, optional


In saucepan, melt margarine over low heat.  Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar.   Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.   Stir in vanilla.  
Separately mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.  Add to brown sugar mixture with coconut and nuts.   Spread evenly in greased 9x13 pan.   Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 min.  Cool completely.
