Cream Cheese Brownies

1 pkg of brownie mix (for 9x13 pan-- or can also use chocolate cake mix)
1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/3 c sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 c chocolate chips.

Prepare brownie or cake mix as directed on package.  Pour into greased 9x13 pan.
Beat cream cheese until smooth.  Add sugar until just blended.  Add egg and vanilla; mix until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips.   Pour cream cheese mixture over batter and swirl with a knife.

Bake 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
