Tangy Tomato Dressing

1/2 c plus 1 Tbls ketchup
1/3 c water
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c vinegar
2 Tbls olive oil
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp coarse ground pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp onion powder
pinch of thyme

Combine all ingredients in small saucepan over medium heat.  Bring to a boil and whisk often.   Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5 min.   Cover the dressing until cool, then refrigerate.
Makes 1 cup
