Copycat Disneyland Mint Julep

We LOVE all things Disneyland. Especially the food! We enjoyed Mint Juleps in New Orleans Square and wanted to make them at home!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup creme' de menthe syrup *
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 12 oz can frozen lemonade concentrate
  • 1 liter club soda
  • Ice
  • cherries, mint and lemon slices to garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot dissolve sugar in water on medium high heat.
  2. Simmer and stir until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Let sugar/water mixture cool.
  4. Add lemonade concentrate and lime juice.
  5. Add creme' de menthe syrup. Start with 1/2 cup and add more if desired. Syrups vary in flavor and some can be a little stronger than others.
  6. Fill cups with ice and fill 2/3 full with drink base.
  7. Fill remaining 1/3 with club soda.
  8. Garnish and serve.

* Make sure it is NON ALCOHOLIC. If you can’t find it, I used this recipe:

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Peppermint Extract
  • 4 drops Green Food Coloring

Make a simple syrup by combining the water and sugar in a small saucepan and heating for a few minutes on the stove until the the sugar is dissolved.  Remove from the heat and let cool completely.
