Dutch Apple Pie (Katie)

1/2 white sugar, plus 2 TBLS of brown sugar
1/4 cup all purpose flour
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
6 cups thinly sliced peeled apples

1 prepared, uncooked pie shell

Apple Crumble Topping:
3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter, room temp

INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375F.

Peel and slice 6 cups apples into a large bowl.  Add sugars, flour, and cinnamon.  Mix well and place in prepared pie crust.

Blend the crumble ingredients with a pastry blender is a separate bowl.  Spread on top of apples, slightly pat to hold in place.

Bake at 375F for 25 mins.  Add a pie crust shield and bake 20-25 mins longer or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.  Cool on wire rack.
