Mom's Awesome Pie Crust

2 c flour
1 tsp salt
3/4 c Crisco shortening
5-6 Tbls ice water

In a large bowl, stir together flour and salt.   Using a pastry blender, cut in shortening until pieces are the size of small peas.   Sprinkle ice water 1 Tbls at a time over the mixture and toss gently with a fork.   Continue adding water until flour mixture is moistened.   Divide dough in half.   Form a ball with each half and roll out onto a lightly floured  surface.    Lift dough and place into pie plate and trim about 1 in. beyond edge.     Place filling in pie shell and place top crust.   Seal.

If you need a baked shell-- line pie plate and flute edges.  Stab around crust with a fork.   Bake at 350 degrees for 15-17 minutes, or until brown.
